Meet Julia

Excel Speech Therapy was first established in 2012 Julia graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology) from the University of Sydney and is a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist. She is a member of the Speech Pathology Association of Australia and is participating in the Professional Self-Regulation programme.

Julia has worked as a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist for over fifteen years. She also completed an additional Masters degree in Health Science (Developmental Disability), graduating with distinction in 2019. Julia co-authored a peer-reviewed scientific paper that was published in the International Journal of Integrated Care in 2021. Both of Julia's degree qualifications were awarded from the University of Sydney.

Julia has specialised training in the PROMPT technique for therapy (www.promptinstitute.com) targeting Apraxia of Speech (AOS) and articulation difficulties. She is also formally trained in The Hanen Programme (It Takes Two To Talk) and is a Hanen Certified Program Instructor. Julia is also formally trained in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and the Sounds Write Literacy Development Program. She has held previous positions as a Senior Behaviour Therapist, providing early intervention services for children with Autism. Julia has a wealth of experience from working as a speech pathologist in private speeech pathology practices throughout Sydney.
